Aviation History Month
Our Presenter is Doug Smith, Manager of Restoration at the Mid America Flight Museum in Urbana.
Doug will share an overview of the museum’s mission and goals, and highlight several of the aircraft in flying condition that are part of the museum’s collection. He will then go into detail on aircraft restorations undertaken at the Urbana shop, including the in progress restoration of a GeeBee QED. Doug has 30 years of aircraft restoration experience and is the owner of Doubletree Products, LLC, which produces aircraft firewall fittings for production and homebuilt aircraft.
